Crannog, Loch Assapol
This crannog is situated about 200 m WSW of the Old Manse, Bunessan, at the north-west end of Loch Assapol. It is about 20 m from the north-east shore and is usually about 0.6 m below water level. It is roughly circular and is one of the smallest known crannogs measuring about 5 m across. It appears as a mass of rounded boulders and is reputed to have been linked to the nearby shore by an artificial causeway.
